Well, this is a bit embarrassing but my favorite object is ermm... a stuffed kangaroo. I like it because it's kinda cute and it's got a baby in it's pouch. What's it look like? Well, I can say it's brown, of course because kangaroos are brown. It also has a cute tattered hat on its head. There's not much to say about it but it has kinda stubby arms, legs and a tail. I also like it because my parents bought it for me when I was younger in Australia. I can still remember that day when they asked me to pick the one with or without the hat and I chose the one with the hat. Come to think of it, I got it in like 2002 so it's about 9 years old that means it is 5 years older than my sister! What do I do with it? Well, don't laugh, but I hug it when I sleep and pretend to talk to it sometimes as if it was alive. I sometimes talk to it like a friend and share my emotions with it. I think of it not only just a stuffed animal, but a friend. Some people think it's girly to have a stuffed animal, but I disagree with them because I definitely know how they feel. Oh! I forgot to tell you that I call her Roo Roo because it is a kangaroo after all.
p.s this is true so don't laugh about it

There is nothing wrong to have a childhood memories but it is up to everyone to have a childhood friend or a toy

It's nothing to laugh about, a person has to have something that they care about. And also I think it's lovely. C:

Rotha, loved it. Thanks for being willing to share your treasured kangaroo with us! It would be fun to see a picture, but I like the picture you've made with your words.
ReplyDeleteI love your introductory sentence. How could I stop reading after that?! Some nice adjectives that fit really well - tattered hat, stubby arms. I thought it was interesting that you reflected on its age, that it is older than your sister! Nice description of what it means to you. And it works really well to end with saying that you know other people might think it's girly, and giving your reason why it's not. (Except that "because I definitely know how they feel" doesn't seem like a reason?)
I enjoyed it from start to finish!
p.s.
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest deleting: "There's not much to say about it." Actually there are things to say about it, and you do :)
"What do I do with it?" would be a natural place to start a new paragraph.

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the photograph - what a cute Roo! Do you know the Winnie the Pooh books, with Kanga and her son Roo?
